Consultation has concluded. Below is a record of the engagement.

Have your say on how the Torrens Parade Ground/Training Depot could be more accessible and have increased use for South Australians.

What's being decided?

While retaining and enhancing the important military history of the precinct, we are now considering ways to make the Parade Ground, Training Depot and the surrounding memorials and gardens better connected and more accessible to South Australians.

A Steering Committee has recently been established, at the request of the Premier, to explore possible options for greater use and visitation by the South Australian public.

We want your feedback on how to use the Torrens Parade Ground/Training Depot with the aim to encourage greater use and visitation by the wider population.

This feedback will help the Steering Committee create their final report for the Premier.

Background

The Parade Ground was constructed in 1893 and the Training Depot Building in 1936. Both have, and will continue to have, an important role in the history of Adelaide and the in commemoration of military contributions made by South Australians past and present, and into the future.

The Steering Committee has heard from members of the veteran community and their families; from the education sector; arts and cultural groups and First Nation voices.

To help guide the Steering Committee’s deliberations, we want your feedback and views regarding this important revitalisation project.
