CALHN’s Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (2026–2030)
Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) is inviting the community to provide feedback on the draft actions for our next Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP). The plan sets out what we will focus on over the next 4 years to improve access, communication, and overall experiences for people with disability across our hospitals, services, and workforce.
This will be CALHN’s second DAIP. The draft actions have been shaped with input from people with disability, carers, staff, and community organisations. Their contributions have helped us create actions that are clearer and easier to measure, while staying aligned with what matters most to the people who use, and work in, our services.
The draft plan also reflects the new State Disability Inclusion Plan 2025–2029 and includes actions that support priority groups such as Aboriginal people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women, children and young people, older persons, carers, LGBTQIA+ community members, people with intellectual disability, and those living in regional areas.
Get involved
We’re now asking the wider community to look over the draft actions and tell us whether they make sense, feel practical, or need adjusting. Your feedback will help ensure the final plan is grounded in lived experience and reflects the needs of both consumers and staff.
The DAIP includes actions focused on improving services as well as building a more inclusive workforce. Each action has a responsible owner within CALHN, and progress will be reviewed and reported each year. A mid-term review will take place after 2 years.
Public consultation is open throughout December 2025 and January 2026, and the final DAIP will be released in February 2026.
We appreciate your time and feedback as we work towards a more accessible and inclusive health network for everyone.
