What's being decided?

We are in the process of introducing two new data regulations to the Health Care Regulations (2008) to support statewide health service planning, population health planning and improve patient health outcomes.

We want your feedback on these draft regulations.

Background

SA Health is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of all South Australians.

Understanding the patient journey across public and private health services will help us make meaningful improvements across South Australia’s health system.

Collecting and analysing consistent data from all health services enables transparency and accountability for patients, families and carers accessing health services in South Australia.

What are the next steps?

As part of the consultation process the DHW is engaging directly with impacted health care providers to seek their feedback on the draft Regulations.

We will review and consider all feedback to finalise the draft Regulations. The new Regulations will come into effect on 1 July 2022.

While the Regulations are being drafted and finalised the existing data reporting requirements for all health care providers will remain in place.
